National Ploughing Championships 2011

Finally, a day out for even the busiest of farmers – the  3-day spectacular that is the National Ploughing Championships will take place in Athy from the 20th – 22nd September. 

The team at O’Donovan Engineering look forward to meeting everyone and we invite you to visit our stand for a browse and a cup of tea on P 551 close to the livestock.

Tullamore Show 2011 Competition Winner

ODEL - COBALTCongratulations to our lucky winner Conor Callaghan from Co. Donegal who recently won a competition we held while at Tullamore Show 2011.  He guessed the correct weight of 2 rams which was 197.5kgs.  For this he has won €180 worth of Cobalt 12 Guard – High.  This Irish made product is now available for purchase here at O’Donovan Engineering. 

Cobalt 12 Guard – High contains copper, iodine and selenium.  It’s slow release formula is easy to administer and can be used at 6-8 week intervals. 

It is just the product for thrive in your young lambs & ewes.

Spring Promotion

Spring PromotionWe are looking forward to welcoming Customers from all over Ireland to our premises in Coachford next week. Monday 7th March to Saturday 12th March 11am to 6pm.

All week there will be Special offers on Cattle, Calf and Sheep Equipment along with product demonstrations and workshops.

We will be Launching 4 new products to compliment our already extensive range including;

Workshops will take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2pm on Weighing for Profit- getting the most from your weighing Equipment and EID for herd management.  Workshops are free of Charge but places are limited so please book by leaving a comment below or ring us on 021 7334066 to secure your place.

Sheep Fencing/Mobile Handling Scheme

The Department of agriculture has formally announced the opening of the Sheep Fencing/Mobile Handling Scheme. We at O’Donovan Engineering offer an extensive range of Sheep handling and weighing equipment and are approved suppliers for this scheme. The Grant Opened officially on the 1st November 2010, it will run to the end of 2013. To ensure that grant assistance is spread sucessfully the scheme will be divided into a number of tranches. Applications will be assesed under a number of criteria, information on criteria available here

Money Matters

  • €8million has been allocated to the scheme
  • 1st tranch of payments will run to the 31st Janurary 2011 and €1.148million of the       €8million will be availaible for this tranch.
  • Grant aid is limited to 40%
  • Maximum eligible investment €10,000, i.e maximum grant of €4,000
  • The following items are eligible for grant aid under the scheme

  • Mobile specialised sheep spraying equipment;
  • Mobile sheep handling units (including footbaths);
  • Mobile weighing facilities;
  • Mobile rollover crates;
  • Mobile ‘batch’ footbaths;
  • Mobile penning, up to a maximum of 75 metres (as part of a handling unit);
  • Fencing (excluding gates).
