ODEL Crush Gate
The ODEL crush gate is a heavy duty gate, with an adjustable neck width to suit all size of animals. This crush gate is semi-automatic for increased safety while handling livestock. It has a unique feature of a lock open facility to ease emptying of race. There is an added safety feature in this crush gate of buffer plates to reduce the risk of accidentally opening of the gate by an animal.
IAE Head Scoop
A scoop is also a great benefit in any crush. The moulded plastic scoop dramatically reduces the available side to side movement of the animal’s head, providing greater safety for both animal and operator. The Super Scoop takes the strain out of tasks such as dosing and ear tagging. It keeps the head up so reducing the risk of the animal choking. The locking ratchet mechanism is improved by using a concentric ratchet locking face and pawl allowing for an easier release when under load. This reduces strain on the operator and animal. The central pivot point now has a larger bore and a new bearing spreads the load over a greater area, significantly reducing wear on that component.
Scaracen Crush Gate
We also do IAE Scaracen crush gate. A self-closing crush gate which is activated by the animal’s forward movement, this is easily adjusted allowing seven alternative gate settings in widths between 100 and 250mm. The vertical gate arms help to reduce the risk of choking if the animal collapses, whilst baffle plates on crush gate eliminates leg traps.
Hoofnak
On many farms each year, lameness in both beef cattle and dairy cows can cause severe financial loss. It is well known that the early treatment of this disease is important to maintain weight gain and milk production. An essential requirement is a proper examination of the affected leg. The Hoofnak Veterinary Hoof Hoist is an award-winning device designed for ease of use in those difficult situations where an animal must be examined in detail and it prevents the kind of struggling and strenuous lifting that is so often a part of such an examination. The Hoofnack unit which can be easily mounted to any cattle crush. It takes a significant amount of risk away from the dangerous procedure of treating and maintaining animals hoof. The unit can be positioned and moved along the length of any crush to suit the position of the animal.

O’ Donovan Engineering manufacture 4 bar fixed and hinged crush panels. The hinged panel can be opened easily in the event of an animal going down in the race. Customers are advised to have their first panel hinged as a safety feature and for a vet to easily access the animal.
