Durapak Tops Teagasc Trials

In an intensive trial, Teagasc compared 360 beef bullocks using three different types of slatted rubber, out-wintering pads, and bare concrete slats. The results from the 2006 & 2007 Teagasc Trials show that Durapak Slat Rubber, color-coded in BLUE, outperformed competitors with 14kg more carcass weight and a higher carcass classification, resulting in an added value of €45 – €55 per animal.

The primary reason for Durapak’s superior performance is the product’s softness, warmth, and comfort compared to other slatted rubber options. Earlier versions with square corners were prone to damage by heavy animals. To address this, we offered discounted replacements to farmers. The new design with rounded corners has proven to be more durable and provides an even better return on investment.
