Rubicle – The Cow Comfort Cubicle

The Rubicle has all the qualities of our standard Super Loop/ Cantilever Cow Cubicle with a soft-touch cover protecting the steel to provide your cow’s extra comfort while housed. This will encourage cows to spend more time lying on the cubicle bed which will, in turn, get the cow to produce more milk and increase profitability.

The point of a cubicle first and foremost is to index cows properly. Proper indexing means the cow lies squarely on the bed reducing soiling, accidental teat damage to a neighbouring cow and maximising cow spaces. Some plastic cubicles on the market seem to have gone away or forgotten this resulting in damage to teats, loss of cow spaces with cows occupying 1 and a half or 2 spaces which also results in more beds to be cleaned.

There are four options to mount the Rubicle:

  • Head-To-Head Post & Rail Mounted Cubicles
  • Single Line Post & Rail Mounted cubicles
  • Channel mounted cubicles.
  • Z rail wall mounting Cubicles

Hugh MacEneaney, Teagasc Dairy Adviser, Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny

“Good facilities allow farmers to expand production and incomes and add to the asset value of the farm. They also lead to a better quality of life for the farm family by reducing the workload and the drudgery. In many cases, particularly on dairy farms, buildings pay for themselves over a 7-10 year period. This is especially true when capital grant and tax savings are available.”
